Losing Weight Blog: One Day at a Time

Day 1: Wanted to order pizza as I watched the football game. Never in my life did I think that I will ask my wife for a plate of vegetables, or as she calls them, “crudites”. But that’s what I did. As I looked at the plate, I thought I could still order my meat lover’s pizza. But I did not. Because I did not want to write in my losing weight blog that I fell off the wagon. Yes, because right now, my diet blog has a few followers online, all wishing my success.

Day 2: Somebody told me in the office that lemon water, first thing in the morning, can help me lose weight more effectively. So before heading home, I dropped by the grocery store to buy some fresh lemons. They said fresh lemon juice served warm is a great alternative to coffee besides jump starting the digestive and cleansing the body of toxins. I don’t yet know how I could survive the day without my daily caffeine fix, but to be true to my commitment, with my losing weight blog as my witness, I’d take one day at a time.

Day 3: I woke up parched and hungry. Perhaps it was the lemon water; the acid might take a little getting used to. I went to the kitchen to fix myself a hearty meal but I stopped myself before I reached the fridge. Instead I went for a bottle of soy milk. I read in one losing weight blog that it is better than dairy milk and it can keep me feeling full so I downed a glass and did not give the fridge even a backward glance.

Day 4: My diet blog is gaining more followers and I couldn’t be happier. Even my secretary mentioned it when she peeked in to ask if I wanted something from the deli downstairs. I said I wanted a tuna sandwich and specified that I want it with whole wheat bread instead of my Wonder Bread. She asked if I wanted a can of soda to go with it, but I declined, telling her I will just have water. I think I surprised myself more than I surprised her!

Day 5: I had lunch with a cousin visiting the city. She was so surprised that I ordered a garden burger instead of my usual steak and fries. I just told her that I am determined to lose all the extra fat. She said she’s read so many diet success stories and that she’s looking forward to reading mine. I gave her the link to my weight loss blog so she can see how I am doing when she goes back to Arizona. I can’t wait till she tells her brother, Rob (his real name), that I’m on a diet. Rob has been trying to lose weight since he was fresh out of college, and that was 12 years ago!

Day 6: It’s movie night with the kids. We all wanted to watch Transformers on 3D. As usual, while I was lining up for tickets, they went off to the snack bar, but not before I told them that plain popcorn only and no chips nor nachos. I read in one weight loss blog that popcorn is a healthy alternative to chips or fries. I’m glad the kids did not complain.

Day 7: Time to kick of my shoes and relax in front of the TV. There’s bound to be a game I can watch. I was again tempted to order a meat lover’s. But I know that diet success stories only happen to people with self-discipline so I asked my wife for a bowl of peanuts instead. I’m happy to report in my losing weight blog that I have gone through another week without falling off the wagon.
